Tuscany 2024

Montepulciano

  • Romantico – perfect spot for sundowners. Not a foodie place, but the best for drinks (despite the grumpy waiters).

Florence

Our TO DO highlights:

The Mirror Gallery – Palazzo Medici Riccardi
  • Santa Monaca church – Italian opera. Enjoyable even if touristy, no regrets here!
  • Palazzo Medici Riccardi – a must see in my view, the palace was commissioned in 1444 by Cosimo de Medici and designed by Michelozzo. It was bought in the 1600s by the Riccardi family, modernised and extended and it hosts Florentine Renaissance paintings, antique marble sculptures and is home to the Chapel of the Magi and the Mirror Gallery. The late Baroque Mirror Gallery is just wow 🤩 and I loved stopping for a bit and staring at the central fresco, a tribute to the Medici family, a rich and brightly coloured ceiling referencing the four cardinal virtues.
  • The Medici chapel was another favourite, surprisingly quiet I thought and such a nice hide away from the crowds flooding Florence
  • Walk up to the Michelangelo piazza for panoramic views across Florence
