Arizona family adventure 2023

Day 1 and 2 – Sedona

DO

Sunrise – Airport scenic lookout
  • Wake up to watch the sunrise (we didn’t have to as kids were up at 2am asking about restaurant opening times!). We went for the Airport Scenic Lookout viewpoint as it was very close by (we missed our Sky Ranch viewpoint in the dark!). Fantastic views of western Sedona and the surrounding red rock formations., worth waking up for!
  • WALK the Big Park to Bell Rock loop – this is a beautiful 4 mile circular walk, moderately challenging, but still child friendly.
  • Eat Mexican – Mole Sedona, Nice selection of Mexican classics and a fun range of margaritas! (L: not the pizza though)

Day 3, 4 – Page

WALK

  • Follow the trail to see the Horseshoe Bend – yes, it will be busy and yes, it is touristy! BUT, man, it truly is an amazing place to be! Nothing in the world can possibly spoil it!
  • Lower Antelope Canyon, the ‘spiral rock arches’ – only accessible with a Navajo guide as it is protected by the Navajo parks. What a spectacular place to be! The famous ‘slot’ canyon created by the erosion of Navajo sand stone can quickly be flooded by rains during monsoon season. Rain does not have to fall near the Antelope Canyon slots for flash floods to whip through; rain falling far away can funnel into them with little notice.
  • Glen Canyon Dam – a very short walk, prob about 0.2miles but very spectacular and an interesting place to see!
  • The Beehive
L:Real scorpion candy WOW🤩
L:The only and amazing horseshoe bend!!

Day 5 – Page to Valle

  • Cameron Trading Post
